Before Brady, There Was McNair
INDIANAPOLIS - The journey from AFC doormat to Super Bowl champion for the Indianapolis Colts, like most stories of successful teams in sports, features a cast of characters that shape and define the path to which they take.

While the protagonists that wear the blue are remembered for their accomplishments of the goal, its the antagonists that are remembered just as much.

The first that many Colts fans will think of early is Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Losses in the 2003 and 2004 NFL Playoffs, and the subsequent championships by the Patriots made them the team to overcome for the Colts if they'd hoped to finally rise to top of the AFC and the NFL. In true theatrical style, the Colts rallied from 18 down to beat the Patriots in the conference championship, and ascend eventually to Super Bowl Champion.

But before the Patriots stirred the souls of Colts faithful, their was another star quarterback who provided the first road block on the team's journey to NFL glory, Steve McNair.
