IndyCar Series: Dario's Double
HOMESTEAD, FLA - He left IndyCar the champion, and now he's returned as a champion.

Dario Franchitti came back to the series full time after a lackluster stint in NASCAR and picked up right where he left off, securing a win in the series's final race of the season and picking up his second league title.

Target Chip Ganassi teammate Scott Dixon, who led the points standings coming into the race by five points finished third but had just enough to stay ahead of Ryan Briscoe by a point, despite the fact that the Penske driver finished second in the race.

Briscoe nearly pulled off the championship run himself, leading the pack with just ten laps to go, but he needed to go into the pits for fuel late, allowing Franchitti to get back out in front and eventually win the championship. The third place season finish is the highest of his IndyCar Career.
