It will be hard to imagine turning on Purdue football next fall and not hearing Joe McConnell describe the action. After 15 years behind the mike, Joe will step out of the broadcasting booth and into retirement after Saturday's Old Oaken Bucket game. But Purdue football fans who listen to the games on the radio, the broadcast will not be the same. It will be hard to replace a guy who has become synonymous with the Black and Gold on the football field.
