JJ is calling for a few upsets, Could Warren Central Lose at Brownsburg?
The long and challenging journey I embarked upon a three weeks ago is getting both easier and more difficult. My goal was to pick the winner and final score of each IHSAA football tournament game. As we move along in the post-season, there are obviously less games on the schedule, but many of the match-ups are complete toss-ups.
The good news, I've been pretty consistent, predicting correctly at a 79% clip week one, 81% week two, and 83% week three. The bad news, I'm not sure that I can continue that success rate with the 20 competitive regional games set for this weekend.

Mishawaka 17 Merrillville 13
Carmel 24 FW Snider 21
Brownsburg 20 Warren Central 19
Center Grove 31 Floyd Central 21
Yep, you read that correctly, I'm picking Brownsburg to knock off Warren Central. The way I look at it, if Franklin Central could've beaten Warren, then Brownsburg has a shot. The home-field advantage could be key. I also see another "instant classic" in Fort Wayne with Carmel pulling out another close victory. We just might be on the path towards a renewal of the Carmel-Center Grove rivalry at Lucas Oil Stadium.
CLASS 4A
Hammond Morton 14 Lowell 12
Fort Wayne Dwenger 31 Delta 23
Cathedral 30 New Palestine 17
Evansville Reitz 42 Evansville Central 13
If Reitz can beat Jasper by 36 points, then we MIGHT have a nice Semi-State opponent for Cathedral. Delta could advance if at home, but can't see the Eagles winning at Dwenger.
