All across Central Indiana IHSAA high school basketball games had been canceled due to the winter storms and snow-filled roads. But for Martinsville (4-11) and Mooresville (2-12) on Friday night, there were ten frosty the snowmen playing on the hard court at all times.

A back and forth battle took place on the Pioneers home floor, with Martinsville jumping out to a 28-22 halftime lead.

However, Mooresville Junior Devin Harris led the Pioneers to their most impressive quarter of basketball in the season, only allowing five points while taking a 42-33 lead. Harris would finish the game with 15 points, but it wouldn't be enough to hold on to the victory.

Martinsville came back in the fourth quarter in impressive fashion, taking the lead at 48-46 with just a minute left in the game. But Pioneers Junior Center Max Bisesi was found wide open underneath the basket on an assist from Senior Tanner McKinley that tied the game.

In overtime the Artesians struck quick and fast, forcing turnovers on Mooresville's two opening possessions that both led to lay-ups, and an eventual 56-52 victory.

Derek Krebs led the way for Martinsville with 14 points, while Freshman Center Willie Spina added in nine.

"It's nice getting a victory going into the tournament soon and that builds confidence," said Mooresville Head Coach Tim Wolfe. "I think we played five sophomores and one freshman, so we need that confidence."
