INDIANAPOLIS -
Its never pours, but it does rain once Moto GP comes to town.
In their opening year it rained on Friday night and then during the race on Sunday. The Indiana weather gods then greeted the riders with some precipitation on the opening day of practice in 2009.
"At some points of the track, there is a lot of water, and because the track is not regular, some water is coming in at these points," said Jorge Lorenzo of the rain that hit the trial runs on Friday. "When you pass with the bike at these points, you are sliding very much."
"You have to be very sensative not to crash."

Yet Lorenzo can't help but feel a little less pressure, enough even to crack a smile as he rode away from the Fiat Yamaha garage on a scooter Friday afternoon. Fate may not have been kind to him weather wise, but his fortunes have been over this past week.
After weeks of speculation as to whether he would move to Ducati or Honda teams, Lorenzo decided to resign with Fiat Yamaha for the 2010 Moto GP season.
"Its important," said Lorenzo of taking care of his plans for 2010. "I've never been nervous or with a lot of pressure, not knowing my future, but its good to know what your going to do for next season."
That means he'll be beside defending Moto GP champion Valentino Rossi making the blue and white uniformed team the most potent in the top series of motorcycle racing.

"I think he do the right choice because in this moment our bike is not the fastest on the straight, but is very good in the corners," said Rossi of Lorenzo's return to the team on Thursday. "We have good setting. We work a lot with the engineers, and the bike is well balanced. So I think at the end he make the right choice."
The standings would show that so, since right now Rossi and Lorenzo sit first and second, respectively in the Moto GP points standings. Since joining the main circuit in 2008, Lorenzo has three victories and has 14 podium finishes, and has not finished outside the top three so far in 2009.

In the rain soaked Indianapolis GP of 2008, Lorenzo came in third behind Nicky Hayden and Rossi, though he hopes this year to have a little better luck in what's expected to be better conditions.
"Its strange," said Lorenzo of the continued rain Friday. "We hope Sunday it is great conditions."
