Following the Monday night victory, which was capped by a late fourth quarter touchdown toss to Pierre Garcon, Peyton was asked about his history for scoring on a game's first play from scrimmage. But many Colts fans already knew the answer to that question. Manning has, indeed, hooked up for a touchdown pass on the Colts first offensive play 2 other times in his NFL career.

Just like this week to Dallas Clark, one of Manning's opening play passing scores was to a tight end. The second time also had similarities to the Clark play because it occurred on Monday Night Football and it was good for 80 yards.

The first was a Week 10 game held on Nov. 18, 2001 when the Colts visited the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome. Manning connected with tight end Marcus Pollard for an 86-yard touchdown to start the game.

Peyton Manning and the Colts opened up a 14 point first quarter lead in that 2001 game at New Orleans before the Saints would rally behind 2 Aaron Brooks touchdown passes and a Ricky Williams touchdown run to beat Indianapolis, 34-20. Peyton Manning's passing statistics on that day would be 18 for 28 for 262 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.

The second time Manning fired a touchdown to pass on the Colts first offensive play from scrimmage was a Week 12 Monday Night Football game on November 28, 2005. The Colts were hosting Pittsburgh in a prime time clash at the RCA Dome and after the Steelers punted following a three-and-out, Peyton hit Marvin Harrison down the right sideline for an 80 yard TD score.
